Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about beef shares, pricing, delivery, and how to get started.
What exactly is a beef share?
A beef share means you're buying a portion of a whole animal directly from us, processed by our custom butcher. Instead of picking up a few pounds at a time, you get a large quantity of premium beef all at once that's vacuum-sealed, labeled, and ready for your freezer. It's how families have bought beef for generations, before grocery stores made us forget there was another way.
What sizes do you offer?
We offer whole, half, and quarter shares. A quarter share is a great starting point for a couple or small family. A half is the sweet spot for most households. A whole share is for large families, group buys, or anyone who wants to set their freezer for the year.
How much does a share cost?
Depending on hanging weight, quarter shares start at $1,400–$1,600, halves at $2,800–$3,200, and whole shares at $5,600–$6,200. Pricing is per pound hanging weight, which means you pay for the beef before the butcher trims and packages it so your actual take-home will be slightly less. We're always happy to walk you through the math before you commit.
What does “grass-raised and grain-finished” mean?
Our cattle are raised on open pasture their whole lives — no feedlots, no shortcuts. In the final months before processing, we finish them on grain. That's what gives our beef its rich flavor and marbling. Grass-raising builds healthy, lean animals; grain-finishing puts the flavor in.
What cuts will I receive?
We use a standard cut sheet that includes steaks, roasts, short ribs, brisket, and ground beef. Let us know if you have preferences.
How much freezer space do I need?
Plan for roughly 1 cubic foot of freezer space per 35–40 lbs of beef. A quarter share typically needs about 4–5 cubic feet, a half about 8–10, and a whole around 16–20. A standard chest freezer handles a half comfortably.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we deliver locally in the Riverside and Orange County area.
How long does the beef last in the freezer?
Vacuum-sealed beef stays good for 12–18 months in a standard freezer with no quality loss. Most families work through a half share in 6–9 months without any issue.
How do I place an order?

Why buy direct instead of from a grocery store?
You know exactly where your beef comes from and how the animal was raised. You're supporting a family operation, not a supply chain. And honestly, once you taste the difference, grocery store beef is hard to go back to.
